I can’t wait to learn about the Link Gun and the Bio Rifle. Those and the ASMD are the guns I am the weakest with. The Link I’m trying to get the hang of since I noticed it can be powerful when you really are forced to use it. The Bio Rifle is really just a strange weapon and would do well with a tutorial telling people how useful it is.
I’m really hoping for the Bio Rifle though since that’s a fairly odd gun that is a bundle of mystery. I hear you can lay a mine field, but I never found it effective since it dissipates quick. Also, there’s the obvious technique of charging up a super glob and ambushing an unsuspecting player with your sticky load. Trumps the Impact Hammer and Flak Cannon at CQB when you have a full charge.
These vids are really, really useful. They offer a convenient, fun and interesting way to get to grips with some of the lesser obvious stuff in UT3.
And they are very well done of course, but anybody can see that.
I was very impressed with this review alot of them are very undescriptive and forget to teach from the basics which makes it much harder to learn. Before this video I believed the Impact Hammer to be totally useless. Keep up the good work!
i downloaded version 2.0 for ps3 and i can’t use the impact hammer!!!! my favorite weapon! is there any way to get. is the godlike weapon available in the 2.o version for pc? plz reply!
Deimos (pronounced /ˈdaɪməs/ DYE-məs; also /ˈdiːməs/ DEE-məs, as in Greek Δείμος), is the smaller and outer of Mars two moons (the other being Phobos).
In Greek mythology, Deimos (Δεῖμος “dread”) was the personification of dread.
He was the son of Ares and Aphrodite. He, his twin brother Phobos and the goddess Enyo accompanied Ares into battle, as well as his father’s attendants, Trembling, Fear, Dread, and Panic. His Roman equivalent was Formido or Metus.
Because…it obscures the action going on in that 4th of the screen. Besides, you insult the intelligence of your viewers by telling us the title of your video after it’s already written above the video. You are practically telling us “oh just in case u r dumb, hear’s the title of mah video agen. Make sure u see it gud dis tiem.”
Since you don’t seem to be too observant, let me point something out then: This video is in widescreen aspect. The gameplay footage is not. It is in 4:3 – meaning it only extends 3/4 of the width of this video. So once again, the sidebar obscures jack squat. Also, people view these videos on more places than just YouTube, they are on bittorrent and embedded on many gaming sites. You are the one insulting your own intelligence by knee-jerk bitching about stuff without any consideration of others.
Also, in any parts of the video where I have zoomed the footage so it could extend out further, it is done so deliberately, anything that I wish for the viewer to see is seen.
That’s the problem. I don’t understand why you would go through all of the work to cover up part of the gameplay with useless info. More work for less effect is totally retarded.
1. The sidebar is a useful way of branding. People can see at a glance from even a thumbnail that a video is mine. 2. Useful info IS displayed there. Key combination sequences etc.
So you see, people do have reasons for doing things even if you wouldn’t. That is the beauty of individuality. Since this series has been successful and even featured on the official UT3 website, it seems my approach worked. Best of luck with your own vids, and a tip of my own: Be kind & mature & you’ll go further.
this video was fantastic dude. I really enjoyed it. The only thing I wish about the impact hammer is that the emp could also be used to deflect shots like in the original ut.

@FLUTWERK never heard of it before, but cool, has a nice art style. I've seen similarities in plenty of places, but such is the nature of it 2010/02/05
It would seem, that I'm either sorely under-enthusiastic, or sorely over-enthusiastic... quite the pickle. 2010/01/19
@MeatsMeier Cintiq ftw buddy.. I'd think you of all people could afford one 2010/01/08
Sometimes in principle you might enjoy following someone. In practice 50 tweets a day is pretty effing annoying. Say no to spam, mmk folks? 2010/01/08

I am looking forward to doing the Link Gun video. Quite a few things to say about that one that people probably aren’t aware of.

Asaph Hall, who discovered the moons of Mars, named one Deimos, and the other Phobos.
On the modern monument to the battle of Thermopylae, Leonidas’s shield has a representation of Deimos.

durr shit, get that side bar out of the way so I can actually see the fucking video.
October 6th, 2009 at 2:51 pm
The sidebar doesn’t obscure any onscreen action whatsoever… just a bit of the HUD. Don’t see why that is such a problem to you.
